READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1-8
Love Believeth All Things
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
~1 Corinthians 13:7
I am often quick to judge. People come to me with ill reports of others, and I am prone to believe them. Can the same be said of you? Why is it we want to believe the worst? “Love believeth all things” means that we are going to believe that which is good, that which is of good report, that which is honorable. We won’t jump to the wrong conclusions but will believe in their honesty and truth until otherwise proven. We also won’t go searching out the bad. What friend, what mentor, what caring person will seek out the bad? There is no good reason but to bring shame to the person we are investigating. Love believes all things about the other person that is good and true.
Satan will gladly expose areas of weakness in others if we are looking for them. He wants to make the other person look as bad and evil as he possibly can. He will use any means and any person to accomplish his tasks. The sad part is, most often he uses fellow brothers and sisters-in-Christ to do the dirty work. We should be alert and guarded against Satan’s attacks at all times. Satan is looking for a foothold to drive a wedge between the brethren; God forbid we allow this!
Praise Prayer: Lord, first of all, I believe in You, You have never failed me. I will believe also in those You place around me. Forgive my negative thoughts; replace them with Your love. Amen.
